What's the plan with regard to the domain system and the Path: line? Looks like currently a few sites are putting both their simple name and their domainized name into the Path line; this fixes some problems but there will still be havoc if there are duplicate simple names. Since one of the reasons for the DNS is to allow duplicate names in different domains, it seems like this problem should (eventually) be addressed. (Of course, there are numerous other problems like this in uucp, but you have to start someplace and upgrading the news software, while practically impossible, is still easier than upgrading uucp.) Do the oldest news implementations treat "." as a separator in the Path: line, or do they treat it as a name-character as the current versions do? (either rfc 1036 or inews is wrong; 1036 says that all punctuation except dash and dot are separators and inews has a list of separators.)
