[news.software.b] Problem

andy@syma.sussex.ac.uk (Andy Clews) (05/02/89)

My inews keeps telling me that I have problems with my active file,
and that "the following newsgroups are not valid and should be removed";
it then quotes the names of ALL the "rec" newsgroups. However, articles
for these groups arrive all the time and I therefore think inews is being
somewhat. Can anyone tell me where I should start looking to try to sort out
this problem. What file does inews use to obtain this (apparently
misleading) information?
*Please* don't tell me to RTFM :-( (although if the information does
exist in the news documentation then I deserve the flames I guess)

Live long and prosper!

Sorry, I finished my sentence prematurely there, without realising it.
I meant to say "....inews is being somewhat short with the truth".

I expect you all got my meaning anyway.
