My inews keeps telling me that I have problems with my active file, and that "the following newsgroups are not valid and should be removed"; it then quotes the names of ALL the "rec" newsgroups. However, articles for these groups arrive all the time and I therefore think inews is being somewhat. Can anyone tell me where I should start looking to try to sort out this problem. What file does inews use to obtain this (apparently misleading) information? *Please* don't tell me to RTFM :-( (although if the information does exist in the news documentation then I deserve the flames I guess) Live long and prosper! -- Andy Clews, Computing Service, Univ. of Sussex, Brighton BN1 9QN, ENGLAND JANET: andy@syma.sussex.ac.uk BITNET: andy%syma.sussex.ac.uk@uk.ac Voice: +44 273 606755 ext.2129

From article <937@syma.sussex.ac.uk>, by andy@syma.sussex.ac.uk (Andy Clews): > for these groups arrive all the time and I therefore think inews is being > somewhat. Sorry, I finished my sentence prematurely there, without realising it. I meant to say "....inews is being somewhat short with the truth". I expect you all got my meaning anyway. -- Andy Clews, Computing Service, Univ. of Sussex, Brighton BN1 9QN, ENGLAND JANET: andy@syma.sussex.ac.uk BITNET: andy%syma.sussex.ac.uk@uk.ac Voice: +44 273 606755 ext.2129
