[news.software.b] Caught in a KILL file

amos@taux01.UUCP (Amos Shapir) (05/22/89)

I just stumbled upon a strange bug in rn: I read the 'control' group,
with a KILL file that says /cancel/h:j so I can still see the interesting
stuff. When -t is not set, rn shows the article which are junked, then
says "Type space to continue" (actually, any key will do). If by
that time more articles have arrived, it says "5 more articles have arrived,
looking for more to kill..." and starts the KILLing all over again.

Well, I just spent a horrible 10 minutes trying to get out of this KILL
file, while sri.com kept supplying thousands of 'cancel' messages to
the spurious articles it had sent - the cure can sometime be worse
than the disease...
