[net.lang.lisp] More on Public Domain Common Lisp

It's been pointed out to me that we are really not able to handle large
numbers of requests for the Spice Lisp sources. Porting Spice Lisp is not
something that hobbyists or small companies are likely to be able to do.
Therefore, please don't bother Dr. Fahlman with a request for the sources
unless you are very serious about doing a port and believe you have the
required resources.

Send me netmail to me if you have any questions.

More as a general inquiry in relation to your problem with
supplying people with this Common Lisp:

1. I notice that SUMACC tells you to send $65 to some independant
tape copying company. Has anyone any experience with such services?
I assume either you get nothing or some small royalty but at any
rate it probably costs you nothing thereafter in either time or
money.

2. There is always a one-shot to net.sources

3. There is always the possibility that some other organization
(usually University) would be willing to further distribute it
(the old 'send us a tape and $50 and we'll send it back to you
full of the stuff'.)

I dunno, I was more interested in responses to 1. above.
