At least make message IDs differ in the first few characters. News 2.11 uses lockfiles with names like "/tmp/L<message@id>". On our Xenix boxes with massive intel brain damage we get zombie lock files... it'd be nice if they didn't lead to lots & lots of messages getting dumped because the ids are identical in the first 12 characters. -- Peter da Silva, Xenix Support, Ferranti International Controls Corporation.
