With all this criticism of C News that seems to be going on in this newsgroup, I just wanted to say that a) We've installed it here, and it works; b) It has had minor bugs, but they have been easy to fix, nothing one wouldn't expect from new software; and c) It works considerably better than the old B news. Having worked in software development for many years, having been one of the authors of one of the most successful but internally incomprehensible commercial software products, and having spent many years involved in and simply watching the endless discussion of `the software problem,' it is good to see that there are still some people out there who understand the basic design principles that avoid this `software problem'. The C News software is well-structured and well thought out. I'm glad that some people are still developing software according to prudent design principles. -- Eric Roskos (roskos@CS.IDA.ORG or Roskos@DOCKMASTER.NCSC.MIL) -- Eric Roskos (roskos@CS.IDA.ORG or Roskos@DOCKMASTER.NCSC.MIL)
