We're running inews 2.11.14 and are trying to convert a second feed from full to ihave/sendme. My system is actually a loop (two systems that exchange every few minutes) and my external feeds are batched. What we would like to do is have all the ids batched up for one of the feeds with a delay, then periodically turn those into an ihave message to send off to the feed. Meanwhile, the feed would do the same thing. Hopefully we would cut down a lot on the redundancy of sending out both sides caused by the latency on each end within my loop. I haven't been able to get anywhere on this. I have a sys line for the feed site that looks like: feedsite:\ all,!to,to.feedsite,!junk,!ks,!swbt,!bit,!local\ :IF:/usr/spool/batch/feedsite.delay Every 3 hours I run a simple cron file that does: mv /usr/spool/batch/feedsite.delay /usr/spool/batch/feedsite.ihave and a bit after that I run: /usr/lib/news/sendbatch -c -i feedsite and finally, in my /usr/spool/batch dir I have file feedsite.cmd: uux - -r -z feedsite!rnews I THOUGHT that would give the delay I need, yet send stuff off in an ihave message. I find instead that although I produce the posting in group to.feedsite.ctl, that nothing gets queued up and/or goes out. There's probably something real simple I don't understand here, but I'd appreciate a Bnews guru giving me some enlightenment. The sys line works with the 'I' and path removed, and with 'normal' batching done (/usr/lib/news/sendbatch -c feedsite). Please feel free to reply by email if this should be simple. Thanks.
