[news.software.b] Batching over DECnet

I am in the situation where I have to send news over a DECnet
only link (both machines run Ultrix).  Sendnews works fine,
but there is way too much overhead firing up a sendmail process
for each article sent.  Has anyone worked out a clever method
for batching articles via DECnet?  Any ideas, scripts etc.
would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Yes.  Use nntp.  Works great.  Make sure you compile it with DECNET support
(there is a define for this) and you'll be all set.  We send lots of news
internally at DEC that way.
