OK, I can't figure it out. I'm running B news 2.11 patch level 14 on an AT&T 3B1 using ndbm, with flock enabled. During nightly expire it often happens that incoming news gets stacked in /usr/spool/news/.rnews, and begins to get unstacked after expire by a "rnews -U" automagically. So if the news feed is still sending, there will be a uuxqt with rnews running on the incoming news. Soon there will be a deadlock which requires manual intervention. This is a drag. I know that one solution is to migrate to C news, but until then I have this problem. If there's a fix for this I'd be pleased to discover it... Thanks for any info, -- Bruce Becker Toronto, Ont.
