I've been having some problems with our news system and I wonder if anyone here might be able to give me a lead on where to hunt it down. I'm running B news (not sure which version) on a network of Sun systems. News is kept on the server and each local node access it with 'nfs' versions of the normal news software (nfsreadnews, nfsrn, nfsinews, etc.). We can read the news just fine from any node. However, we can only post from the server. Any attempt to post from one of the client nodes results in a "Post did not succeed" type of message. This didn't used to be a problem until we changed the name of the server. I suspect that the name is somehow harcoded into the software but I can't figure out where because I don't have the sources for the software that is running on our system (I have sources for a later version of B news and the sources for C news but I'm hesitant to re-install either because I might blow up the news feed). Any suggestions? Please respond by e-mail. Thanks. -- Chris Andersen (..!{sun,tektronix}!sequent!toontown!chris) Home: (503) 620-4176 | "When forced to choose between two options, Work: (503) 629-8005 | both of them bad, I always look for a third."
