We are running patchlevel 14 of news 2.11 and we have the following problem: We keep getting some *incoming* news articles being posted to moderators. Since the moderators are ``unknown users'', this results in a lot of returned mail. My impression was that articles should be mailed to moderators when they are *posted*, not when they are received. Upon further investigation, it appears that the news articles in question are targeted at groups which are blocked from reception in our ``sys'' file. For example, we are blocking the reception of anything in the ``soc'' newsgroups (and it is being blocked at our news feed as well), but when an article comes in that is destined for (say) ``news.groups'' (which we accept) and ``soc.culture.misc'' (which we don't), the article is deposited in ``news.groups'' as it should be, but it is also mailed to user ``soc-culture-misc'' because ``soc.culture.misc'' is a moderated newsgroup. What I believe *should* happen is that the acticle destined for ``soc.culture.misc'' should be either placed in ``junk'' or just ignored. If anyone has any ideas about what is going on, please let me know.
