I have been trying to establish a two-way gateway between news and mail. We don't use MULTICAST, but follow the procedure outlined in appendix B of News B 2.11 (Sept 21, '86) documentation for mailing news. The line in our sys file is: foo:laas.foo::/usr/local/lib/news/mail-foo Mail-foo pipes the article through awk and sendfile. If we post an article to laas.foo, it gets mailed to the distribution list in mail-foo. But if someone mails to laas.foo we have the following alias: laas.foo: "|/usr/local/lib/news/recnews laas.foo" When mail gets posted to laas.foo, it does not automatically get mailed also to the distribution list. In both cases it goes through inews. Why is there this difference of behavior? Thanks to all. Please e-mail me or post. -- Ralph P.
