[news.software.b] Need Help with problems posting with nn & cnews

Cnews Specific Problem

I'm having a problem with Cnews and nn 6.4.3 working together. I *can*
use postnews (Cnews) to successfully post a message (as this message was
posted), but can't get nn to post, reply, follow-up or mail. The
problem appears to be with either the censor program 'anne.jones' or in
the way it is called from nn via inews (see transcript below), but since
postnews works ok, it might be more complicated than that.

Kim Storm indicated that she/he (No flames please :-) doesn't know what
is not working properly and doesn't have current source for Cnews to do
any further checking (suggested I post here).

I am using:

	SCO Xenix 2.3.2
	SCO Development 2.3.1b
	AT386 20MHz System
	NN 6.4.3
	Cnews (Patchdate 25-May-90)

Any Cnews Gurus out there have an idea what going wrong?

Below is the message received after posting (in this case a follow-up) an
article to a newsgroup that is sent back to the user. Also included is
the article that actually shows up on the newsgroup.

Received Mail as shown below:

This message is mailed to me when I try to post an article,
reply, follow-up or mail. In the example below, it is a
	follow-up to another article posted.

Note the message with regards to anne.jones.

Article was posted to general as:

The article is actually posted but the username is missing
from the entire message. No fullname is listed either
since there isn't a ~/.name file and the system couldn't
evidently find the user's name to look in the passwd file.

Again, postnews works ok, I just can't use nn which is a pain..

Please email and I will post a summary of the solution (I Hope :-)

Thanks

BTW: This problem existed before installing the 24-May-90 patches to
Cnews...
