I have just finished installing cnews and for the most part it seems to work OK. The first question I have concerns the automatic installing of new newsgroups. When I built cnews, I don't remember being asked if I wanted this done FOR me or BY me. So I don't even know whether this option even exists. When I used to administer Bnews way back when, I was able to add newsgroups manually. I'd like to still do that. The second strangeness to come up is when I look at the header of a typical article, my name comes up as the sender. Here is one of the article headers: -------------------------------------------- Article 5 (40 more) in news.admin: From: tale@cs.rpi.edu (David C Lawrence) Subject: Re: Old news being recirculated with new dates Message-ID: <1990Jun6.004446.3647@efi.com> Lines: 34 Sender: yale@efi.com (Yale Rosenblatt) <------------------------------- Old-Message-Id: <$C~$2V=@rpi.edu> Organization: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY References: <Jun.3.23.51.00.1990.24766@presto.ig.com> Distribution: local Date: 4 Jun 90 20:55:16 GMT ------------------------------------------------ Can someone give me some help with either of the two above situations? -- Yale Rosenblatt Electronics for Imaging uunet!efi!yale yale@efi.com
