I am running C News in 4.3 BSD UNIX. I have recently set up a local group which displays messages as they come in from a mailing list, by using an alias in SENDMAIL's /usr/lib/aliases. The alias looks like this (sorry about the wrapped line; BTW, the "tail +2" strips off the "From blah@blah ..." mail header, and newsreaders take care of hiding the rest): novell: "| tail +2 | /bin/inews -h -a towfiq@interlan.com -d local -n interlan.novell" I need the Approved thing in there, because I made the group moderated, so that followups to the "group" go to the mailing list, via the address I put in the mailpaths file. Now the weird part: I have received articles containing the Subject: line above. My only guess is that in the act of subscribing, some news reader is generating an article. Does anyone know why this is (and better yet, the fix for it)? -- Mark Towfigh, Racal InterLan, Inc. towfiq@interlan.Interlan.COM W: (508) 263-9929 H: (617) 488-2818 uunet!interlan!towfiq "The Earth is but One Country, and Mankind its Citizens" -- Baha'u'llah
