[news.software.b] Expire problem in cnews

aem@mthvax.cs.miami.edu (a.e.mossberg) (08/13/90)

I'm having a problem with expire and I can't find the problem in the
cnews docs. It appears to be a problem with the history file, but I
don't know what the solution would be. Before I try to rebuild the
history file, does anyone know for sure what this:

expire problems:
expire: wrong number of fields in `...'
expire: bad return from doline(): `'

means, and what the correct solution is to it?

thanks,

aem

I have a simple philosophy. Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where
it itches. - Alice Roosevelt Longworth

This means "empty or mangled line in the history file", and the simple fix
is a rebuild.
