I don't have the original article around to refer to, but conscientious readers may recall a posting from Simon J. Gerraty which reported C News not updating the active file on a Bull machine. After some correspondence, it turns out that this isn't quite as bad as it sounded: the *contents* are being updated, but the date on the file isn't, so this is clearly a kernel bug rather than a C News bug. Just in case anybody was worried.
