[news.software.b] Ancient B News sites out there

karl_kleinpaste@cis.ohio-state.edu (10/19/90)

I sent out a couple of checkgroups messages recently for gnu.*.
Today, I was mildly horrified to get the following complaint about it
from a Columbia site. Stuff mailed to "root" here gets dumped in
newsgroup cis.staff.daemon-mail. This software is 7.5 years old,
folks; I especially liked the Relay-Version (no Posting-Version? or
would that have been my site's responsibility?), the Article-I.D.
built out of the Message-ID, and the disparate use of Posted -vs-
Date.

Usenet humor is best when it comes from its own history.
