What do I need to do to get telnet and ftp to recognise name
addresses that don't exist in my /etc/hosts file? I can ftp and telnet
given the number addresses. For example ftp 26.2.0.74 gets me simtel20
but I can't give the name wsmr-simtel20.army.mil unless I put it in my
hosts file.
I have tried creating a /etc/named.boot file with the name of a
supposed server in it.
		secondary	pitt.edu	130.49.1.254
I think that was the line as well as the primary and my suns address
but I still can ftp to any name.

What am I missing? I have a Sun386i on the internet and our
sendmail runs fine with names.
