At the moment there is one significant program in C News that isn't part of the standard regression tests, because it's not fully portable and isn't part of our default configuration: updatemin. And of course, the latest patches turned up a bug in it. The bug had been lurking for some time, actually, but the new split() uncovered it. The result of running it is that blank lines get inserted into the active file. No data is lost, the only effect is extra newlines, but some news readers get upset about this. The 14-Dec-1990 patch, just posted, includes a fix for this, which *has* gone through the regression test.
