I've just installed C News on the VAX 11/750 which runs as our main news/mail gateway, and very pleased with it I am too! The VAX was starting to slip behind with news unbatching and didn't look like it would ever catch up. C News cleared the backlog in one night! So a vote of thanks to Henry and Geoff for their hard work. On to my problem. Because the gateway machine is lacking in CPU cycles and diskspace our main NNTP server is a uVAX which is sent the articles using nntpxmit. The server also runs C News. I've noticed that articles passing through the gateway to the server or articles posted on the server and arriving on the gateway end up with the hostname being attached twice, eg. Path: stc!stc!bruce I've put a quick tweak in hdrmunge.c to check if the hostname is already attached, but it's a bit of a hack and I'd rather not be running locally modified code. Is there some other way to prevent this behaviour, or have I just done something wrong in the installation?
