[news.software.b] C news expire vs. Expires header field

palkovic@calvin.fnal.gov (John A. Palkovic) (12/31/90)

How do I set up the explist file under C news so that the "Expires:"
header field is honored for, say, the news hierarchy? So I don't lose
everything in news.announce.newusers etc. I have RTFM (man8/expire),
but it is not very clear on this point, IMHO.

It is always honored, subject to whatever constraints you impose in the
/bounds/ line or by giving more than one date in the group's line. You
have to work hard *not* to honor it.
