I keep getting "error 16" on 2 or 3 batches of news every day. relaynews sends mail to usenet saying: "relaynews: bad/660299481 error 16 (see errlog)" where the 9 digit number varies. It leaves a file in /usr/spool/news/in.coming/bad which I can uncompress and run through relaynews myself, usually without incident. Looking at the logfile after manually running this through relaynews sometimes shows no errors, sometimes most of the articles are flagged as duplicates and sometimes some articles have the notation "dbminit may only be called once". Nothing is ever written in errlog at all. Is this a file permission problem somewhere?? Thanks jpp@ddmi.com
