I received this message from sendbatches when trying to test an ihave/sendme setup: ./sendbatches: batching togo.1 for `asylum.ihave' failed awk: hdrval is not an array /usr/local/bin/inews: /dev/null/dead.article: cannot create ./sendbatches: aborting The relevant code appears to be in NEWSBIN/inject/defhdrs.awk. Has anyone seen this problem before? Is it a bug in our vendor's awk, or perhaps something in the ihave/sendme setup? The "problems" file mentions a few known problems with awk implementations, but nothing about this particular gotcha.

This somewhat-cryptic error means that inews got empty input. -- "Read the OSI protocol specifications? | Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology I can't even *lift* them!" | henry@zoo.toronto.edu utzoo!henry
