Hi, Here at Canterbury we are running ANU-NEWS on a VAX as our site's NEWS Server (running MultiNet). Problem is, our bnews client-sites who serve NEWS off us are suffering an abysmal response time from their readers (vn, rn). We also have client VAXes running ANU-NEWS which respond almost as quickly as users logged directly onto the server machine. So the picture is that VAXes get all the good response times and the Unix-boxes are phutting along like slugs. The only reason I could come up with was that the VAX server's NNTP "thingy" (as you may have guessed, details are not my strong point...) may have trouble communicating with it's counterpart on the Sun's. My question is: are there sites out there running a similar set-up, and how well does this work for them. What I'm hoping to hear is "Ah!, don't use this product, use this one instead".
