I've been trying to build CNews for my SCO XENIX (386) system, but the same problem crops up every time - dbz.c won't compile... the error messages are Greek to me, but I thought I'd see if someone out there has ideas..... The errors used to be worse, but I've installed GCC and sorted many of them out (If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous). When I run ~/cnews/conf/doit.bin (as news, as suggested by several folks who've installed cnews on XENIX systems), everything's fine until I get to dbz - then I see 60-80 lines of errors, including: "Initialization between incompatible pointer types in function ..." "Comparison of distinct pointer types lacks a cast..." Although the messages are kindly written in English, I'm not a programmer (by _any_ stretch of the imagination) so they aren't that useful... The cnews.tar.Z file I'm using came from anomaly, and was said to be optimized for XENIX, so the problem may be related to the GCC compiler... I have no idea :-( -- Support a Marine in the Gulf!
