[news.software.b] Name of temporary input file to relaynews?

schwager@m.cs.uiuc.edu (Michael Schwager) (03/20/91)

Hi,
I have a wee problem: I'm tired of these weird and bogus newsgroups
popping up in alt.*, so I've taken it upon myself to change the "newgroup"
script. Now instead of automagically creating newsgroups, I just get a
mail message saying that it's been requested, and it includes the header of
the control message article. Problem is, I miss out on the text, so I
can't put a description of the group into my newsgroups file. So, what I
tried to find out was what the name of the temporary file was that
relaynews stored the article in, as it was processing it. Thus I'd be able
to nab the text right outta there and send it along with the rest of the
mail. I've been searching around, but it's taking me a long time (since
I'm relatively new at this News stuff) and I have more important things to
do. So if anybody knows this offhand, I'd appreciate it if you'd fill me
in. Thanks.
