Dear News Gurus: Our site's News server runs C-news with the NNTP package from tmc.edu. Per the instructions supplied in the 'contrib' section of the CNews distribution, we configured the NNTPd to insert articles it has received from NNTP clients into the news stream by calling SERVER_INEWS. We are encountering a few problems: o "Lines:" header is not being added to the postings o "Date:" header wasn't correct o Postings to MODERATED groups are not handled correctly The latter problem appears (??) to be caused by the fact that the Server_Inews/ Server_Censor duo doesn't understand the meaning of the "%s" entry in the mailpaths file. As such e-mail is sent out with the actual characters "%s" in the recipeint address field, causing the mail system to barf. AM I USING THE WRONG INEWS TO INSERT (POST) NEW ARTICLES RECEIVED FROM THE NNTP-BASED CLIENTS??? Is something else wrong? I would appreciate hearing any comments or guidance. Many thanks! Bob ps I manually generated the 'Lines:' header for this posting :-) -- Robert M. Enger CONTEL Federal Systems enger@seka.scc.com (Internet)
