Reply via Email, Puh-LLLLeeeaassse! Hi, I can't read some of my groups. For example, in my active file I have: uiuc.sys.amiga 0000000023 00024 y Then, when I cd to the actual news storage places: 103m# cd ~news 104m# pwd /var/spool/news/.admin 105m# cd ../uiuc/sys/amiga 106m# ls (LOOK! We have recent files!) 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 107m# ls -l total 11 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 842 Mar 4 20:32 17 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 1467 Mar 11 14:44 18 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 2120 Mar 11 16:44 19 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 1388 Mar 11 17:48 20 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 645 Mar 12 16:49 21 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 893 Mar 29 21:47 22 -rw-rw-r-- 1 news 912 Mar 31 21:43 23 Then, when I try and use rrn or nn, thusly: rrn uiuc.sys.amiga nn uiuc.sys.amiga I get nothing! 0 unread articles, according to rrn... but my .newsrc file looks like this: uiuc.sys.amiga: Absolutely no numbers after it! What gives, and how do I fix it? I'm running CNews, last patchdate 7-Sep-1990 (I wish people put the version ID's someplace easy to find...) Other groups are having similar problems, but not all groups are having this problem (I didn't even know about it till a user pointed it out). Thanks for the help. -Mike Schwager | INTERNET:schwager@cs.uiuc.edu | This space intentionally left UUCP:{uunet|convex|pur-ee}!uiucdcs!schwager| blank.
