We have installed B news 2.11 on a vax8550 running Ultrix 4.1 We have configured news to run from /news/spool /news/lib and the binaries from /usr/bin When our feed site (estevax.uucp in Erlangen, Germany) sends us news it is immediately sent back. We have the following alias setup for sendmail to use rnews: "|/news/lib/uurec" But when we run the sendmail program we get the results as shown below. The Ultrix 4.1 is running C2 security. Could this be a problem? The same test ran fine on Ultrix 3.1 -- Start output from script program -- Script started on Fri Apr 19 16:24:10 1991 # /usr/lib/sendmail -v rnews rnews... aliased to "|/news/lib/uurec" testmail ^D"|/news/lib/uurec"... Ideally it should be possible for any user to execute a programmatic mailer, but at the very minimum to handle mail originating externally it must be executable by daemon. -- =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*= Neil W.
