news@zeus.calpoly.edu (That News Dude) (04/29/91)
yet another question... we're running C news and NNTP, latest versions to the bes tof my knowledge. we're running under AIX, with the NNTP server on a 370, and all the users on PS/2s. The whole file system is replicated, so it looks like one big machine. We NNTP our news over from another place onto the 370, and users read it as if it were local. When they post, the From: line comes us user@sitename.calpoly.edu, where the sitename is the name of the PS/2 they are on. Normal. However, the Sender: field always has user@zeus.calpoly.edu, which is where the NNTP server is. To make matters worse, those sites that read and post with rrn from zeus come up with From: correct, but the Sender: line says: Sender: @zeus.calpoly.edu () Note no user name. Help? I'd LIKE to have sender be the same as From: in all cases, but worst case, I'd just hardwire it to say news@zeus.calpoly.edu and be done with it. -- ++Christopher(news); | news@zeus.calpoly.edu | | News Administration Account for These two strings walk into a bar... | Cal Poly, SLO, AIX Cluster
