I seem to remember this problem being discussed recently -- I'm sorry
to bring it up again. If anyone knows the fix or cause, could you
please send me mail?
For about the fourth time since installing C news about three months
ago, I received this message in the mail:
expire problems:
expire: wrong number of fields in history `<Ucanada-primerate_26e@clarinet.com>
673...'
Sure enough, the history file line for that message was corrupted:
<1Rbkp-sixers_26e@clarinet.com> 673136893~- clari.sports.basketball/424
<Ucanada-primerate_26e@clarinet.com> 6731368<1991May1.172907.14430@scifi.uucp
> 673140531~- rec.scuba/918
<115243@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu> 673140533~- rec.games.frp/4037
Does anyone know why this occurs? For the record, we are running C
News, version 15-Dec-1990, on a heavily loaded Encore Multimax running
Umax 4.3. The same version of C news running on a less loaded Sun
4/470 running SunOS 4.1 receiving pretty much the same feed never has
this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
