This may be a FAQ because I think I've seen it asked before, but I never saw an answer. We are running Bnews 2.11 on a Sun SPARCstation network (SunOS 4.1.1). Our server (a SPARCstation) has a uucp connection to the local university. The clients nfs mount the news partition from the server. Our problem is that we cannot post news from the clients. We can read news from anywhere, but we can only post from the server. When we attempt to post from a client, we get a message that says: bad system name: asuvax uux failed ( 68 ) 'asuvax' is the uucp name of the local university. The clients don't know anything about asuvax in their uucp files (we use the server as a mail server for the network). I assume this is a common configuration, so there must be a way to do this, but I've been unable to find it when I R'ed the F'ing M. Please respond via email. -- Tom Berk Inter-Tel, Inc.
