The problem is that, generally speaking, hostnames are case-insensitive, that is, Grumpy == grumpy for all practical purposes. By analogy, our main news host is known as tut.cis.ohio-state.edu, but the NIC has it registered as TUT.CIS.OHIO-STATE.EDU. Same place. --Karl

The real problem is that mail auto-routed to "Grumpy" will go to 'grumpy' instead. If you specify an explicit bang path, there's no problem unless the path happens to go thru a "rabid router", in which case you'd better find a functional path.
