Early last week, ncc died without notice. We initially suspected a cooked disk, however further investigation shows that we have probably lost the CPU board. As a result, we will probably be down for at least another 10 days. I have set up an alternate machine to pick up ncc's mail from alberta, however mail stacked up at pyramid is still waiting to get through. I have advised pyramid of our problems, however they do not seem to be able to reroute our traffic via alberta (hello pyramid -- did you get the message?). If anyone gets bounced mail, try resending via ihnp4!alberta!ncc!... Please DON'T call - I am aware of the problem!!! This machine was out for a week when it was commandeered for some benchmarks. We're back for the time being, but it may be another week before things are reliable again. Mail routed through here got held up and/or ditched. To compound matters, messages that I sent out to uucp neighbors from another machine apparently never made it past a mail queue, so SAs weren't aware anything was wrong until it was too late. I suspect Lyndon's message to pyramid admins may have been stacked up until pyrnj came back on line Monday night. There, how's that for a sob story?
