We are losing power to our building on December 29 at 08:00 (Australian Eastern Summer Time, ie: December 28, 21:00 GMT). It might be back again December 30 at 17:00 EST (Dec 30, 06:00 GMT) but is just as likely not to be back till about the same time on Dec 31. That is, munnari (and mulga, and other hosts,) and the gateway to Australia will be unreachable for 2 or 3 days. If possible, I would appreciate it if our relay hosts would hold mail during that period. Sometime in January (or perhaps February) we also expect munnari to be unavailable for a day while it is physically moved from one machine room to another. That is, the plan is for just one day. A date hasn't been set for that yet, and there doesn't appear to be any way it can be made to coincide with the power loss. Robert Elz postmaster@munnari.oz.au

Munnari is due to move from one machine room to another starting tomorrow. It will be power down sometime tonight (Monday .. Australian time, about midday Monday in Europe, and sometime early Monday morning in north America). We expect the move to take about 2 days, there's a minor chance it will complete in one day, and there's always the possibility of problems causing a longer down time. Essentially no mail, or news, to or from Australia will get through in this period, since munnari is the major mail/news gateway to Australia from all the world's networks (uucp, csnet, ...) kre
