SDCSVAX is gone. Long live UCSD. We have completed the conversion from host "sdcsvax.ucsd.edu" to host "ucsd.edu" as the campus mail and news gateway system. As far as I know, ALL existing uucp connections have been moved from sdcsvax to ucsd and are functioning well. All mailing list addresses and global campus mail aliases have been moved as well. The EECS department is even now in the process of moving its general computing tasks off to their new CCI Tahoe system "odin". Internet, bitnet, SPAN, and other mail addressed to "sdcsvax" will continue to function as before, although most of those should really move to 'UCSD'. However, uucp connections directly to sdcsvax will cease to function completely sometime soon, as we're disconnecting its modems. If you have not already updated your routing tables and mailing lists, NOW is the time to do so.
