For nearly a week now, mit-eddie has been up and down -- mostly down. It has been crashing unpredictably and often, and takes some time after a reboot to allow incoming internet connections. Basically, eddie is quite sick. It's also running on only 2 megs of memory, so it's very, very slow. News traffic through eddie is probably a total loss, and mail is quite dodgy. It's probably best to avoid eddie for the time being. I've no idea how long this will last. -- Bill Wisner ..!{ames,att,decwrl,ihnp4,mit-eddie,osu-cis}!killer!wisner

What do you do if you are trying to send mail *to* mit-eddie? :-) -- /kohn/brian.c AT&T Bell Laboratories Semantic Engineering Center The Resource, Poet of Quality ...ihnp4!hoqam!bicker (201) 949-5850 "It is useless for sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while wolves remain of a different opinion." - Wm. Scream and yell a lot and rip your hair out and complain loudly.
