Sites upgrading software from VMS 2.5 to 3.0 using an early DATASYSTEMS parallel line printer controller, should be aware that they may experience problems printing after their upgrade. There is an interrupt change that occurs that will not be handled properly in the early controllers. The earliest controllers may require return to the factory for modifications while the later boards may only require a switch change. The symptoms usually experienced are somewhat as folloows: You bring up 3.0 for the first time. Everything else comes up fine. As soon as you start to print, the UNIBUS hangs. Contact the manufacturer for details on the fix.
