The 3B2/400 known as osu-cis has long been a sore point for us, and in the last 2 weeks or thereabouts has become so unstable that we finally decided it was time to pull the plug. The 3B2/400 has transmogrified into a Pyramid which is now answering the phone at the Micom port selector connections already, and some direct-connect modems will return sometime Tuesday. (We are moving away from direct-connects, however, in favor of the Micom due to generality of configuration and fitting in with the rest of the university. Pyramids get along with Micoms considerably better than 3B2s, too.) The change is being made as transparently as we can (the Pyramid calls itself osu-cis for UUCP purposes), and the biggest externally-visible change will (should?) be the lack of a Path: hop going through Ohio State, trivial though that is. --Karl
