an answer to the inquiry about satanic allusions in stairway to heavan. if you play the album to the line "your stairway lies on the whispering wind," (just before the great guitar solo), and spin the album backwards from that point, the words "because i live with satan" seem to emerge. it may take a couple of tries to pick it out as there is a bit of gibberish around it. also, satan sounds kind of clipped and is the most questionble sounding word. the rest of it is pretty clear. i'd like to add that i think it's pretty obvious that this type of subtle satanic reference is destroying our society. also, i happen to believe in the easter bunny. other backwards messages include the infamous "turn me on dead man" in helter skelter by the beatles and a recent on by pink floyd on the wall. i'm not sure where or what is said however. sincerely, chris "the vulture" folke

I'm sure that if you took an infinite number of albums and played them all backwards you would eventually hear the text of the Unix(tm) user's manual!! Dave Eichler

The vulture?...Ah well. What amazes me is that people sit around all day listening to music backwards to find (or think they find) this sort of thing. Would someone on the net please cite research where people have found a correlation between satanic practice and listening to music with dubious satanic references recorded backwards? C'mon guys... subliminal visual advertising is one thing, but is there any evidence that the mind can make any sense out of long strings of linear infor- mation fed to it in complete mirror image? I can't even read notes shown to me in a mirror! ,sreehC sewoH noryB aniloraC htroN fo ytisrevinU
