I don't know if this is the right newsgroup to post this question, but here goes: I would like to have a BASIC program generate the reference list for papers done using WORDSTAR on an IBM PC Junior. (No flames about the equipment, please -- it's not mine!!) I don't have access to the WORDSTAR program right now, and would like to know: a) If there is a "graceful", easy-to-use way for WORDSTAR to merge in plain ascii files. (the ascii files must be able to contain directives like "switch to italics here", etc.) (I have a feeling that merging with ascii files is probably easy, but getting certain parts of the merged text italicized won't be) b) How complicated is the WORDSTAR file format? Can it be generated directly by a BASIC program? i.e. Maybe I should forget about merging my document into a WORDSTAR document, and instead directly generate the WORDSTAR file (fool WORDSTAR into thinking that *it* created the file) Any help would be greatly appreciated! If I'm posting this to the wrong newsgroup, I would also appreciate it if someone told me... Please email all responses to me; I don't usually keep up with this newsgroup... -- Joe Morrison VLSI Group University of Waterloo {decvax,allegra,ihnp4}!watmath!watvlsi!joe -- "The first fifteen million years -- they were the worst..."
