[comp.text] TeX: \sc & \mc

I have been looking at some TeX documents recently (and  TEX.WEB)
and  I  have  seen { ...} and {mc ...} used.  I assume that these
are small and medium captials, respectively.  I  can't  find  the
definition  of  them  anywhere  though!  These would be extremely
useful to me when typesetting programs, so if you know where  the
definitions  are (or if you just know the definition) please send
me some e-mail!
