Our installation is planning to buy 3 MB non-DEC add-in memory for a VAX-11/780 running 4.1 BSD UNIX, and would like to hear about reliability and repair experiences with various vendors (especially Monolithic, Mostek, NS, Trendata, Intel, and TI) according to board sizes (1/4-, 1/2- and full meg). Also, comments on trade-off decisions between the different board sizes would be helpful. We're leaning toward the smaller ones because of reduced impact on total memory of removing boards for repairs, plus possible higher reliability and lower repair costs. Will be happy to share results to anyone requesting a summary. Thanks, Joe Scholz Reply to: ucbvax!sdcxvax!dcdwest!jws or decvax!ittvax!dcdwest!jws or jws@NOSC
