We run a PDP-11/44, running 2.8bsd UNIX (still). We are looking into expanding our disk capacity. Recently, we ran into a fairly new drive by Century Data Systems (a Xerox Company), the AMS513. This is a fixed (sealed) Winchester disk, 513.7 MB unformatted. Some literature claims: min access 6 MS average access 25 MS max access 50 MS average latency 12.5 MS rotational speed 2400 RPM xfer rate 1208 KBS MTBF > 10,000 hrs MTTR < .5 hr Anyone have any dealings with the company? the disk? Item #2: We are also looking at plotters. One device, an impact dot-matrix printer/plotter, made by Envision Technology Inc.
