How do go about installing TeX in a System V machine ( a ATT 3B2 in our case). I've heard of Common TeX , but how do I get hold of printer drivers and fonts? Are there any commercial packages? Thanks Marcio

We have TeX running on a System V machine (actually it's HP-UX on an hp9000s500) which is a port of the tex82 distribution (it's all in Pascal). We have change files for initex, tex (virtex is not possible on a Series 500), tangle, weave etc and also for dviplus (the LaserJet+ driver). I have nearly finished a C version of the LaserJet driver. We also have a program to convert LaserJet+ soft fonts into TeX pixel files so that TeX can use them. Does anybody want this stuff.....should I post it.....mod.sources??? Jules P.S. For those who don't know; TeX was written in WEB (a system for structured documentation) which can build either the Pascal program, or create a beautiful TeX document for printing. A change file is used to modify the WEB file for any system dependencies. -- IN-REAL-LIFE: Julian Perry E-MAIL: jules@zen.co.uk || ...!mcvax!ukc!zen.co.uk!jules PHONE: +44 532 489048 ext 217 ADDRESS: Zengrange Limited, Greenfield Road, Leeds, England, LS9 8DB
