I just got a flier in the mail from Pipeline Associates in NYC for their "devps" software package, which appears to be a replacement for Adobe's Transcript. Does anyone have any experience with it ?? I talked with Adobe yesterday and it appears they are no hurry whatsoever to update Transcript (we've had Version 2.0 for about 14 months). All they'll say is that they're working on an update but they have no idea when it will be ready. (They told me this 6 months ago also.) The devps package has the following features that look very interesting, plus the price is $295 (binary), $495 (single-system source) and $895 (multi-system source). - support for pic, tbl, eqn, grap and ditroff; - support for ditroff special characters not in the PostScript special font; - support of LaserWriter Plus fonts; - support of special fonts such as the outline fonts; - support of downloadable PostScript typefaces; - troff macros for shading, outlined and rotated text.
