[comp.text] Globally Changing Fonts in LaTeX

yvo@im4u.UUCP (Yvonne Van Olphen) (06/17/87)

On the UNIX machine that I use, there is a nifty program called
'dvi2ps', which converts TeX's Computer Modern fonts to the PS
font of your choice. All you have to do is have the following
in your input file:

\font\helvetica=PS-Helvetica scaled 1200 (for example)
\helvetica

My problem is that I use LaTeX, rather than TeX, and with LaTeX it won't work
globally. Does anyone know how to make LaTeX change fonts globally
without modification of the *.sty files (i.e., within your own
input file)?

			Thanks,

			-Yvonne
