[comp.text] Corrections to TeX - The Program?

forrest@blia.UUCP (09/08/87)

I'm going to be buying a copy of TeX - The Program soon and
I'm wondering if there are any corrections to TeX that have
appeared since the book was published. The version of TeX
I have was produced before the book was published.

Of course, I'd like a list of changes but a pointer to a
specific TeX distribution tape would do fine.

TUG members get an errata for TeX at intervals.

Various distribution tapes get updated eventually.

The WEB source is available by anonymous FTP to score.stanford.edu.
But be warned that it may not be directly useable on your favourite
system because you need the system dependent change files too.

A good way to check is by the `finders fee' listed in the book's Preface.
The fee at the time of publication was $20.48 and is supposed to double
with every bug fix. I believe the copy I have from UW also has it
as $20.48. It also has a date of, ``November 27, 1985.``

Check the $20.48 against your latest release.
