[comp.text] spacing out letters in LaTeX

chu@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Clare Chu) (09/17/87)

This may be a very basic question, but the LaTeX book doesn't help.

How do you space out letters so that they aren't so close together.

example,

s u p p o s e I w a s r e a l l y s p a c e d o u t a n d

well not that far out, but is there a parameter such as glue or
or something that I can adjust? This is to satisfy the Thesis Secretary,
Her Almighty Goddess.

For regular plain TeX, a friend of mine used \magnification=1300 with
12pt type, but in LaTeX, you can't use \magnification.

Thanks, Clare
